Why was my run stopped because of my ElevenLabs account?
Short answer: A project that narrates with an ElevenLabs voice runs on your own ElevenLabs account. If that account is not connected, its key stopped working, or it is out of characters, the run is stopped before anything is spent. A step that ElevenLabs refuses half-way is not charged.
Before the run starts
We check your ElevenLabs account first. The run does not start, and no credits are taken, when:
- No account is connected. Connect one on the account page, or set the project's voice provider back to the standard voices.
- The key no longer works. It was deleted or changed in ElevenLabs. Create a new key there and choose Replace the key.
- The account is out of characters. Top it up in ElevenLabs, or wait for its monthly reset.
- Your plan here is Free. Connecting your own account is part of the paid plans.
During the run
ElevenLabs can still say no while the voice is being made: the characters ran out half-way, the voice needs a paid ElevenLabs plan, or the voice was removed from your account. The run stops and says why. That step is not charged. The steps before it, which ran on our side, are charged as usual and are kept, so the next run continues from there.
Afterwards
The account page marks the connection as not working and shows the reason. Fix it in ElevenLabs, choose Check now, and run the project again.
