What should I record, and how long can it be?

Short answer: Record your screen while you talk through it, the way you would show a colleague. Audio quality barely matters, because the narration is replaced. MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM all work.

What makes a good recording

  1. Talk while you click. VideoPolisher writes the new script from what you say and what is on screen, so say what you are doing, even roughly.
  2. Do not worry about ums, pauses, restarts or background noise. Your voice is replaced and dead time is trimmed.
  3. Record at the resolution you work in. The video is brought to 1080p for you.
  4. Show things in the order you want them explained. The narration follows the order of what happens on screen.

Files

Video: MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM. For a podcast you can also upload audio (MP3, WAV, M4A), paste text, or give a link to an article.

Length

On the Free plan a recording can be up to 3 minutes. Paid plans have no fixed limit; the price follows the length, and the estimate is shown before every run.
