Can I upload a recording that is already vertical?
Short answer: Yes. A vertical recording stays vertical all the way through, and the camera step is skipped because there is nothing to crop.
A recording from a phone, or one you have already cropped to 9:16, is recognised when you upload it.
What happens
- The polished video stays 1080 by 1920. It is not squeezed into a wide frame with black bars.
- The Vertical step has no camera work to do, so cursor tracking does not run and is not charged.
- Captions and shorts work as usual.
What does not apply
A wide version cannot be made from a vertical recording, so that step is not offered.
