How do I turn a screen recording into a vertical video?

Short answer: Switch on the Vertical step. VideoPolisher crops your wide recording to 9:16 and moves the crop like a camera, so the part of the screen that matters stays in view.

A wide screen recording does not fit a phone. Shrinking it makes everything unreadable, so VideoPolisher crops it instead and moves the crop as the action moves.

Steps

  1. Open your project and switch on Vertical.
  2. Choose what the camera follows: your cursor, or let the AI decide (see Should the camera follow my cursor or let the AI decide?).
  3. Add Captions if you want them; most people watch vertical video without sound.
  4. Run. You get a 1080 by 1920 video ready for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.

Starting from a finished video

If your video is already polished, create a project with Vertical from a finished video and upload it. Nothing is rewritten or re-narrated; only the vertical version is made.
